(State your opinion! Is shuffleboard better or worse than it was 3 years ago?) AH
The TSA has initiated new membership and sponsorship opportunites and incentives. Visit the TSA Web Site for details.
As a two year associate member, I received an email about this March 3, 2007. It states that this is a "first step toward bringing the shuffleboard community back together on a national level".
I think a print publication is great! Can't wait! I'm all for it! I think the goals of the TSA are worth the time and effort it will take to get this off the ground. Hey, I took 20 copies of the sign-up form to St. Louis with me. BUT I really don't think the shuffleboard community is that far apart. (I, of course, could be wrong)
People have done an amazing job keeping everyone informed about upcoming events, results and personal goings on through email, websites and yes, the old fashioned phone calls.
That would include the TSA website, my own eshuffleboard.com and the new St. Louis Shuffleboard Players Association website.
I hear over and over how shuffleboard is a "blue collar sport". It aggravates me to no end as more and more people that grew up on computers are playing. The number of shuffleboard folks with email and internet is growing and growing. Those with "secondary" access through family and friends is probably larger than anyone thought.
Heck, my own brother is proud of the fact that he has never touched a computer in his life, but he doesn't hesitate to ask me to make flyers and post them online or email people!
Having said all that, once again let me state that I'm glad there will be a print publication. I like to sit and read as much as the next person.
As for me, I will continue to post the events, flyers and results that are sent to me as I have for the last two and a half years. Your results and flyers will be posted as fast as humanly possible and an email notice (like this) sent out.
Thank you website viewers and newsletter subscribers! And please remember, while donations are appreciated (and accepted!), your results will always be posted, no strings attached.
